Jeanne “Lynn” Hinton Wagoner, 66, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Savannah, died Saturday, May 18, in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She was the daughter of the late Isom Granville Hinton Jr. and Willie Mae Barker Hinton of Savannah. She was married to Terry Wagoner, who survives.
Lynn was a fully-vested and retired school teacher in the State of Tennessee, having taught in Memphis, Savannah and Gallatin,Tenn.Â
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Lynn was cremated, and a private service was also held in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., on May 21.
In addition to her husband, Terry, she is survived by a son, Bert McCarter of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Nina Sawyers of Nashville; five grandchildren; a brother, Robert Granville Hinton of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a nephew and niece.
Memorials can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 2nd Ave. West, Lenoir City, TN 37771, or a book donated in Lynn’s memory to your favorite library, as Lynn was a former member of the Tennessee Textbook Commission and loved reading and teaching others to read.
