James Gattis James Harry Gattis, 90, of Savannah, died Sunday, Nov. 25. He was born in Crump, son of the late Joseph Sylvester and Margaret Ethel Brown Gattis. Mr. Gattis served his country in the United States Army, 1941-1943. He worked for Hassell Lumber Company and also was a farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Crump and a member of Woodmen of the World. Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Chris Ozment officiating. Burial followed in the Crump Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Mellaqua Hulen of Savannah and Debbie Nytko of Bend, Ore.; a brother, Charles Wayne Gattis of Crump; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchidren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Sherrill, Carl and Billy Gattis; and five sisters, Alta Bryson, Millie Hardin, Kitty Phillips, Pat Hill and Ruth Gattis.
