James Roy Garlin Jr., 80, of Michie, passed away on Friday, March 28, the son of the late James Roy Garlin Sr. and Esther Lee Bronson Garlin.
He was united in marriage to Mae Walker, who survives.
Mr. Garlin was a handyman and worked on a towboat for 19 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mae Garlin; son, James D. Garlin; daughters, Lisa D. Avila, Jeanne R. Garlin and Betty L. Peeples; sisters, Linda E. Reed, Sandra White and Rita Hurley; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammie Garlin; grandchildren, Danny Avila, Quentin Peeples and an Angel baby boy; two great-grandchildren; and his first wife, Johnny Mae Garlin.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 2, at Lebanon Cemetery in Michie, with Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating.
