Jack B. Alexander, age 80, of Flint Township, Mich., died Sunday, Aug. 26.

Funeral services were held noon on Friday, Aug. 31, at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 4475 South Linden Road, Flint, Mich., with Pastor Brian Oswald and Rev. Marshall Delay officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to Glad Tidings Tabernacle.

Mr. Alexander was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Savannah, the son of Brown and Bessie Green Alexander.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Glad Tidings Tabernacle for 60 years. Jack retired from General Motors with 39 years of service. Following retirement he worked part time for Car Quest. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing games and watching TV. He enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren and his pet dog, Yogi Bear.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; son, Timothy Alexander; grandson, Jared; granddaughters, Chandra, Gail Marie, and Rhonda; six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; siblings, Alton (Lois), Huey Paul (Glenda), Jimmy (Dawnie), Mary (Ernest) Qualls, Dorothy (Dan) Welty, Diane (Paul) Sivils; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by daughters, Dawn Marie and Sharon Rose; brother, Bob; parents and dog, Buster.
