Horace "Hoss" Craven

Horace "Hoss" Craven, 75, of Savannah, died Sunday, Sept. 16.

He was born in Tennessee, the son of the late Esley Andrew and Bessie Lee Mansel Craven. He was married to Donna Cecila Starkweather, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Craven retired from L.A. Yuma Freight Lines of Phoenix, Ariz., where he was a truck driver. He served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. He had also been a truck driver for Busy Bee Freight Lines and Whitfield Freight Lines.

Memorial service was held Sept. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Horace is survived by his children, Anita Dobbs of Litchfield Park, Ariz., Carol Dorman of Glendale, Ariz., Marla Felton of Waddell, Ariz., John Sexton of Glendale, Ariz., Kim Brown of Wickenburg, Ariz., Horace (Mack) Craven Jr. of Pine, Ariz., Jeff Craven of Phoenix, Ariz. and Elizabeth McRae of Queen Creek, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Capitole Eura Sutter of Pine, Ariz. and Helen Juanita White of Savannah; two brothers, Arnie J. Craven of Sun City, Ariz. and Jerry B. Craven of Paulden, Ariz.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Lee and Doyle Lindle Craven; and one grandchild.
