Homer Howard (3-3-14) service 3-6-14

Homer K "Boots" Howard, 92, of Savannah, died Tuesday, March 3. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late William Henry and Mattie Lena Irvin Howard. He was united in marriage to Edna Louise White, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Howard was a school bus driver for the Hardin County Board of Education. He was a member of Pyburn Union Church.

He is survived by his children, Jimmy Wayne Howard and Donny Ray Howard, both of Savannah; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Gale Harmon.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Raymond, Robert Roosevelt and Ed Howard; two sisters, Oma Mae Howard O’Neal and Zelphia Messner; two half-sisters, Mag Weaver and Rhoda White and a half-brother, Leonard Howard.

Services were held Thursday, March 6, in Savannah with Harry Nolen officiating. Burial followed at Pyburn Cemetery in Savannah.
