Hollis Bain Hollis Bain, of Savannah, was born in Hardin County, on March 28, 1924, the son of the late Charlie Cecil and Josie McDaniel Bain. On June 27, 1942, he was united in marriage to Jesteen Melson, who preceded him in death on June 18, 1984. Mr. Bain had worked for Parris Manufacturing for 49 years before retiring and was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church in Savannah. Mr. Bain departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, 11 days. Mr. Bain is survived by a daughter, Ginger Mitchell of Savannah; two sons, Steve Bain and Dennis C. Bain, both of Savannah; five grandchildren, Amy Smith, Jonathan Ferrell, Joey Bain, Michael Bromley and Melissa Bingham; eight great-grandchildren, Lacie Bain, Cannan Bain, Katie Beth Bain, Bailey Ferrell, Eli Ferrell, Haden Koons, Ashlyn Austin and Calvin Bingham. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bain was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Pleasant; a brother, Ancil Bain; a grandchild, Dennis W. Bain; a daughter-in-law, Diane Bain. Services were held on Monday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m., at New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, with Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
