Henry Melson

Henry Melson, 56, of Savannah, died Sunday, Feb. 13.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Henry Harrison and Ruby Lee Bratton Melson. He was united in marriage to Sandra Ann Ward, who survives.

Mr. Melson was a laborer at Rose’s Sawmill for 20 years. He was a member of the River Heights Pentecostal Church.

Services will be held today, Thursday, Feb. 17, at River Heights Pentecostal Church in Crump with Jerry Gibbs, W.D. McCollum officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by four daughters, Joanna Garner and Pamela Lee Melson, both of Savannah, Bethina Garner of Camden, Tenn., and Melissa Ann Childers of Starkville, Miss.; a son, Henry Arnold of Savannah; seven grandchildren; two sisters, May Dene McMasters and Nelda Lee Arvick, both of Savannah; a brother, Bobby Dean Melson of Savannah.
