Hazel Deshazier, 83, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Willie and Hattie Weaver Benson. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Deshazier, who survives.
Mrs. Deshazier was a homemaker and also had worked for Garan, K-Windsor and Brown Shoe Company. She was of Pentecostal belief.
In addition to her husband Kenneth of Savannah, she is survived by her children, Barbara Milford of Michie, Betty Jerrolds of Nashville, Sue Reece of Clifton,, Janie Lineberry of Clifton and Ritchie Stricklin of Savannah; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Dennis of Savannah, Marie Cook of Savannah and Jo Ann Toole of Panama City, Florida; two brothers, Willie Ray Benson of Florence, Alabama and Jimmy Benson of Morris Chapel.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Maxine Stricklin; and one brother, Junior Benson.
Services were held on Friday, Dec. 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Shayne Riley and Roger Reece officiating. Burial followed in Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
