Harold L. Baker, 82, of Counce, passed away on Monday, Sept. 12. He was born in Dyer County, Tennessee, on Aug. 31, 1940, and is the son of the late Lloyd Moody and Lena Claudine Lewis Baker. On Sept. 27, 1981, he was united in marriage to Sue Smith, who survives.

Mr. Baker served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for four years. He had worked for the Hardin County Board of Education as a vocation assistant, Natural Gas Company for 20 years, and Coulson Photography Studio in Cowan, Tennessee. He enjoyed singing in the Volunteer State Quartet and lead singing in many churches. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Counce.

In addition to his wife of almost 41 years, Sue Baker, of Counce; he is survived by his daughter, Beth Baker Ramsey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Allie Alexander and her husband Caleb and Elise Ramsey; great-grandchild, Jack Alexander; brother, Gary Baker and his wife of Kim of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Shirley Baker of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Baker.

Services were held on Thursday, Sept. 15, at First Baptist Church in Counce, with Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating. Burial followed at White Sulphur Cemetery in Pickwick.
