Hanley Franks

Hanley Franks, of Savannah, was born in Hardin County, on May 26, 1914, the son of the late Sally Franks.

On Oct. 26, 1937, he was united in marriage to Mary Massy, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2004.

Mr. Franks was a farmer and veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, killing hogs, and sharing the meat with his neighbors.

Mr. Franks departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the age of 96 years, 6 months, 25 days.

Mr. Franks is survived by two sons, Tommy Jack Franks of Savannah and Charles E. Franks of Scottsboro, Ala.; two daughters, Joyce Perry of Savannah and Linda Falls of Gainsville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Thursday, Dec. 23, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Don Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial was in the Sunny Hill Cemetery at Hardin County, Tenn.
