George Phillips (7-11-13) service 7-17-13

George Allen Phillips, 78, formerly of Crump, died on Thursday, July 11, in Canton, Ill.  
He was born in Adamsville,  the son of the late Bishop and Beulah Alice French Phillips. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Russell, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Phillips served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired from Caterpillar Corporation where he was an engine tester. He was a member of the Crump United Methodist Church.
Services were held on Wednesday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bro. Steve Webb officiating. Burial followed in the Crump Cemetery. 
Memorial donations may be given to Heart of Illinois Down Syndrone Association (HOIDSA) at hoidsa.org 
He is survived by three sons, Robert, Doug and Kevin Phillips all of Pekin, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Ray Phillips, and his sister, Dean Phillips Cotner.
