Freeman Humphries Freeman Humphries, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 6, at Park Rest Hardin County Health Center in Savannah. He was born in McNairy County, the son of the late William Dorsey and Ethel Pounds Humphries. He was united in marriage to Fleetie M. Nixon, who preceded him in death. Mr. Humphries attended Meeks Grove Freewill Baptist Church in the Gilchrist Community, and was a retired maintenance employee for the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation. Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville with Charles Linam and Ricky Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Vinson Cemetery at Stantonville. He is survived by a daughter, Betty Tutor of Corinth, Miss.; four sons: W.L. of Memphis, Don of Corinth, Miss., Joe and Larry Humphries, both of Adamsville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Humphries of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Nell Bassham of Selmer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Artie Mae Russom.
