Frank Szydlowski Jr. Frank was born Aug. 16, 1938, to the late Frank Szydlowski Sr. and Nora Szydlowski at Fall River, Mass. He departed from this life on March 13, at Jackson Madison Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 71. He was united in marriage to Wilma Byrd Szydlowski in 1967. SCPO Frank Szydlowski Jr. U.S. Navy retired after 25 years of service. Among his many accomplishments were Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Star; Humanitarian Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device; Navy Unit Commendation; RVN AF Meritorious Unit Commendation; Meritorious Unit Commendation; ending his career as Training Instructor. After retirement Frank and Wilma devoted 22 years to nursing home ministry and served until January 2010. His heart was for the elderly people, spreading the word of God. He wanted to remind them of the love God had for them and that they were never alone. Frank was a devoted Christian and touched many lives through songs and ministry. His belief was Full Gospel. Frank was survived by his wife, Wilma Szydlowski of Counce; one brother, Thomas Szydlowski and wife Mary of E. Taunton, Mass.; one brother-in-law, JD Byrd and wife Nelle of Counce; nephews, Thomas Edward Szydlowski of E. Taunton, Mass. and Jimmy Byrd of Counce; nieces, Sherry Garner of Pickwick and Teressa Byrd Timbes of Iuka, Miss. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bart and Oney Byrd, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lowell and Lola Fae Byrd, and niece, Lucretia Byrd Browder.
