Floyd Palmer Sr.

Floyd Edward Palmer Sr., 78, of Savannah, died Saturday, June 23.

He was born in Hutchinson, Kan., the son of the late Ray Arthur and Edith Vanda McGaughey Palmer. He was united in marriage to Rachel Allar, who survives.

Mr. Palmer was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church and the Electrical Workers Union. He had worked as a high climber, trimming trees in Portland, Ore.

No services were held.

In addition to his wife, Rachal Palmer of Savannah, he is survived by his children, Floyd E. Palmer Jr. and Keith Palmer both of Portland, Ore., Cindy Hinds of Oregon City, Ore., Anna Wilson of Centralia, Wash.; step-children, Todd L. Bartrug of Savannah and Terri Goldstein of East Rutherford, N.J.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Frank Palmer of Napa, Calif.; and sister, Orlene Collras of Oregon City, Ore.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Louise Palmer; sister, Inez Garcia; brothers, Ray Arthur Palmer Jr. and John Richard.
