Floyd Ray Hill, 78, of Adamsville, died Sunday, June 7, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in McNairy County, the son of the late Clifford and Pearl McCormick Hill. He was united in marriage to Magdalene Harville, who survives.
Mr. Hill worked for General Electric in Selmer for 25 years. He also farmed and had worked for eight years previously at Brown Shoe Company. He had been a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Adamsville since 1968 where he also served as a deacon. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer from 1964-1968 where he was first ordained as a deacon in 1966. He had been a former membership at Calvary Baptist Church from 1956-1964.
He is survived by his wife, Magdalene Hill of Adamsville; a daughter, Glenda Stowell of Adamsville; a son, Johnny Ray Hill of Huntingdon, Tennessee; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Treece and Beulah Russom; and three brothers, Velmer Hill, Cratis Hill, Wilford Hill.
Services were held on Wednesday, June 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Jetta Forsythe and Tanner Garrison officiating. Burial followed in Pine Hill Memorial Garden at Adamsville.
