Saltillo, Tenn.: Exie Mae Pusser, age 85, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, at the Hardin County Medical Center in Savannah.
She was born July 1, 1929, in Chester County, the daughter of the late Brodie Isaac and Rubie Massengill Conner. At age 14, she married Gilbert Perry Pusser and they made their home in Enville and later in Saltillo.
She worked for many years in the garment industry retiring in her 1970s. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Saltillo. She enjoyed reading the Bible, making quilt tops, baby quilts, embroidering and coloring.
Mrs. Pusser is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Robbins (John) of Saltillo, Loral Mooney (Jesse Dean deceased) of Enville, Joyce Robbins (Red) of Saltillo and Christine White of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and one son, Robert Pusser (Debbie) of Reagan; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Daily of Decatur County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Perry Pusser; a son, Gilbert Ray Pusse; two sisters, Elsie Grey and Lorine Shaffer; and two brothers, Vodie Conner and James Conner.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors–Johnson Chapel with Lloyd Blankenship officiating and burial followed in Roby Cemetery.
