Elmer Oscar “Jake” Jacobson, 78, of Savannah, died Sunday, May 9.
He was born in Holyoke, Colorado, the son of the late Ervin Oscar Jacobson and Marie Louise Busch Bohn. He was united in marriage to Shelby Denise Bickerstaff, who survives.
Mr. Jacobson served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Denise Jacobson of Savannah, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Jerrolds; sons, Gary Jacobson and Kevin Jacobson; stepdaughter, Courtney Affarian; stepsons, Blaine Benson, Jordan Benson, and Colby Benson; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Elsie Sydnor and Connie Coleman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Jacobson; mother, Marie Jacobson Bohn; stepfather, Mel Bohn; his former wives, Sandra Jean Jacobson and Joann Sutton Jacobson; and a son, Christopher Alan Jacobson.
Private services were held on Saturday, May 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Artie Rivers officiating. Burial followed in Mount Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
