Ellis Tucker
Ellis Tucker, 85, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Jan. 2.
He was born in Hardin County, son of the late Charles Bailey and Mary Polk Tucker. He married Helen Joyce Easley, who survives.
Mr. Tucker served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a millwright for 12 years at Youngstown Sheet & Tube located in Gary, Ind. He retired from LTV Steel in Counce in 1989. He was a member of the Pickwick Church of Christ and the United Steelworkers Union.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Memory Gardens in Savannah with Paul Briley officiating.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by three daughters, Kathy Brewington of Florence, Ala., Becky Bray of Corinth, Miss., and Janice Kinniburgh of Water Valley, Miss.; and two sons, James and David Allan Tucker, both of Savannah; six sisters, Irene Coghlan, Ruth Sorensen, both of Alavhu, Fla., Helen Gannon of Savannah, Betty Rogers of Okolona, Miss., Frances Rignola of Patchogue, N.Y., and Wilma Clark of Huntsville, Ala.; three brothers, Charles of Florida, Travis of Lowell, Ind. and Edward Tucker of West Memphis, Ark.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by a sister, Janell Ferraro; and a brother, Roy Tucker; and a grandchild.
