Ed Sutton Ed Sutton, 82, of Savannah, died Sunday, July 24. He was born in Winona, Miss., the son of the late Benjamin Charles and Margaret Elizabeth Hurst Sutton. He was united in marriage JoAnn Shelby, who survives. Mr. Sutton had lived in California for 30 years, Spokane Washington for 14 years, and Hardin County for 38 years. He had worked for Bay Electric in San Francisco, Calif., and was a member of the San Francisco Electrical Workers IBEW Local 6 for 50 years. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Force for two years. Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Will McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Hardin County. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Sutton of Savannah; two sons, Edward Wayne Sutton of Napa, Calif. and Stanley Charles Sutton of Munford, Tenn.; three daughters, Alyce Kristine Sutton of Vacaville, Calif., Cheri Suzanne Williams of Central Point, Ore., Connie Rae Gordon of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif.; three stepsons, Robert M. Welch of Hemet, Calif., Ted D. Welch of Huntingdon, Tenn. and Richard Welch of Hemet, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Patricia "Patsy" Neill of Savannah. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Bobby and Howard Sutton; three sisters, Betty Lou Smith, Sarah Knapp and Margaret Ann Clay; a great-grandchild.
