Dossie "Red" Lester Dossie Dee "Red" Lester, 79, of Savannah, died Friday, Jan. 21, at the Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, Miss. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late George and Mamie Austin Benson. Ms. Lester worked for 13 years at Ripley Manufacturing in Adamsville. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Savannah. Services were held on Monday, Jan. 24, at Walnut Grove Church of Christ in Savannah with R.L. Qualls officiating. Burial was in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Hardin County. She is survived by one son, Aaron Lynn Lester of Savannah; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Stella Mae Tilley, Lossie Bee Stewart, Nellie Pearl Carroll and Mary Josephine Short, all of Savannah; three brothers, Carmel Harold, Donald Ledford and Jimmy Loyd Benson, all of Savannah. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Jesse Lester; one daughter, Nancy Lou Lester; one sister, Dorothy Lou Highland; and two brothers, Lowell Richard and Bobby Carl Benson.
