Doris Young was born in Hardin County, on Sept. 7, 1936, the daughter of the late John Andrew and Annie Garner Willoughby. On Sept. 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to Travis Young, who survives.

Mrs. Young was retired after 15 years as a seamstress from Angelica. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church for 43 years. Ms. Young enjoyed taking care of and feeding her family. She cooked supper on Tuesday nights for them. She was an avid church worker and helped cook on Wednesday nights.

Mrs. Young departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 10, in Nashville, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 3 days.

In addition to her husband Travis of Savannah, she is survived by her children, Greg Young and his wife Retha of Savannah and Tommy Young of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren, Abby Alexander and her husband Josh and Cassie Benson and her husband Brock; two great-grandchildren, Brody Alexander and Kandler Benson; four brothers, Gene Willoughby and Dan Willoughby both of Savannah, Johnny Willoughby of Lebanon, Tenn., and Bill Willoughby of Clifton; and a special sister-in-law, Mary Gilliam and her husband Garland of Savannah.

Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Artie Rivers, Brock Benson officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
