Donald Ray Smith Donald Ray Smith was born February 20, 1935 in Marked Tree, Ark., the son of the late Henry and Edith Robbins Smith. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Durbin on Nov. 22, 1958. Mr. Smith was retired from the McNairy County Highway Department, logged in his early years and attended Lebanon United Methodist Church in Michie. He departed this life on Friday, Jan. 8, in Jackson, Tenn. at the age of 74 years, 10 months, 19 days. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Eleanor (Durbin) Smith of Michie; two daughters, Kathy Bryant and husband Clinton (Fuzz) of Michie, Patricia Franks and Danny (Duke) Ray of Savannah; two sisters, Thelma Orr and Pauline Wilson both of Memphis; two grandchildren, Blake McClain and Lindsey Franks; those whom he loved like his children, Barbara McAfee, Rickey Gilchrist and Jeff Rickman and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Davis and a brother, Morris Smith. Memorial service was held on Monday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at Lebanon United Methodist church in Michie, with Steve Webb and Paul Childers officiating.
