Rev. James Don “Big Daddy” Lee, 60, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. He was born Dec. 17, 1953 in Waverly to Rev. Thomas Paul and Roberta Joyce Simpson Lee.

Rev. Don Lee was a United Methodist minister and a member of the Tennessee Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Rev. Lee served as minister at Water Valley/Indian Creek Circuit, Santa Fe Circuit which included Santa Fe, Goshen, Godwin Chapel, Union, Theta, Bethel, Highland/Lincoln Charge, Lobelville Buffalo Charge, First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Cedar Hill/Porters Chapel Charge, Barnhill Eureka Campground Charge, Indian Mound/Hopewell Charge, Antioch Charge, which consisted of Antioch Church, Chapel Hill and Martha’s Chapel.

He was a member of Indian Mound Masonic Lodge and an associate member of the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a published author and he loved to write Facebook devotions. He also loved hunting, fishing and operating a bulldozer.

In addition to his wife, Melinda Gay Brown Lee of Savannah, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy Lee (Andrea) of Murfreesboro
and Dustin Lee (Rachel) of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Dylan, Abigail, Luke and Loralei Lee; mother, Roberta Simpson
Lee of Waverly; three brothers, Harold Lee (Kathy) of Waverly, Rev. Ricky Lee (Rhonda) of Lynchburg, Tenn. and Rev. Steven
Lee (Crystal) of Dickson, Tenn. and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rev. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Thomas Paul Lee and a brother, Gregory Scot Lee.

Services were Saturday,  Dec. 28 in Waverly with internment following at Anderson Cemetery in McEwen, Tenn. In memoriam, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn., 398101-9908 or to Hope Lodge, Mid-South Division, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, Tenn., 37203.
