Don Edward Perkins, 78, died Saturday, July 26, in Savannah.
He was born in McNairy County, Tenn., the son of the late Elbert Thomas Jefferson and Hattie Monetta Thrasher Perkins. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Wade, who survives.
Mr. Perkins retired from Ford Glass Plant in Nashville where he was a fork lift driver. He also worked for Stauffer Chemical Company in Nashville. Mr. Perkins was a member of the UAW in Nashville.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Deborah Jean Perkins Reynolds of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Lori Ann Perkins Martin of Nashville and Greggory Scott Perkins of Kingston Springs, Tenn.; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Perkins is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Robert Perkins.
Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Troy Slay officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
