Deborah Sue Johnson was born March 8, 1953, in California, the daughter of the late E. W. and Sarah Hayes Johnson.
Debbie lived in Tacoma, Wash., for 20 years and Hardin County for 30 years, where she was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She was a multi-task person who worked many different types of jobs and eventually retired from the restaurant business. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, nature watching and making all types of crafts.
Debbie departed this life Friday, April 25, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital, at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 17 days.
She is survived by three children, Sheri Kennedy and husband Mark, and Sarah Willoughby and husband Ricky, all of Crump, and Michael Johnson of Florida; six grandchildren, Nathan Kennedy, Jennifer Kennedy Brooks, Meranda Willoughby, Tyler Kennedy, Meagan Kennedy and Kaidyn Kennedy; two great-grandchildren, Bentley Brooks and Landon Brooks; a sister, Joyce Ayers and husband John, of Virginia; and four brothers, Don Johnson and wife Barbara, of Savannah, Dave Johnson and wife Kathy, of Morris Chapel, Mike Johnson and wife Betty, of Savannah and Tony Johnson and wife Jovey, of Michigan; and a faithful friend for many years, Jo Jo Eanes of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Johnson and Eddie Johnson.
Services were held Sunday, April 27, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Westley Hazel officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
