David Kanavel, 79, of Adamsville, died on Friday, Nov. 15, at his home. He was born in Jackson, Tenn., the son of the late Charles Glen and Iva Marie Sword Kanavel. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Barbour who survives.
Mr. Kanavel was an eight year United States Air Force veteran, having served from the ending of the Korean War until the beginning of the Vietnam War. He served in Germany and France and spent two of his eight years of service with the USAF Thunderbirds in Nevada. He was as an insurance agent with Union State Insurance Company. David was a member of Maggie Jones United Methodist Church.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. at Maggie Jones United Methodist Church near Finger, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie L. Kanavel of Adamsville; two daughters, Kelly Nichola and Kathryn McNeill, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Mark Kanavel and Charles Matthew Kanavel, both of Adamsville; two sisters, Peggy Towers and Polly Burgess both of Sanford, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Kanavel of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna Belle Sword; and two brothers, Jack Kanavel and Charles Junior Kanavel.
