Daniel Martin Barnes Daniel Martin Barnes was born Oct. 31, 1958, in Union City; the son of the late John Quinton Barnes and Christine Duncan Barnes. He departed this life on Sept. 10 at the Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 10 days. Mr. Barnes was a graduate of Central (Hardin County) High School and Florida State University. He was employed in the wine industry for years, and lived in Napa Valley, Calif., Tallahassee and Jupiter Fla. His love for all aspects of the wine industry required extensive travel and he taught wine courses at Sierra Nevada College and California Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Barnes was a Christian. He loved all types of music, and had a great appreciation of the arts. He loved playing music, especially the guitar and drums, and was an avid reader and amateur photographer. Mr. Barnes supported several charities, including Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and assisted with the local C.A.M. Food Bank. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Sara Giselle Barnes of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.; four sisters, Susan Lyons and husband Al of Bloomington, Ind., Deborah Rushing of Jackson, Tenn., Lori Campbell and husband Steve of Warrington, Penn., Kristi Stihel and husband Greg of Albuguergue, N.M. and grandmother, Violet Duncan of Savannah. Memorial services were held Sept. 11, at Shackelford Chapel with Michael Roach officiating.
