Dan Willoughby was born in Hardin County on Feb. 6, 1947, the son of the late Andrew and Annie Mearl Garner Willoughby. On May 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Anderson, who survives.

Mr. Willoughby departed this life on Saturday, June 16, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 10 days.

Mr. Willoughby lived in Hardin County all of his life and served his country in the Tennessee National Guard. He worked as a machine operator for APAC for 45 years and attended Crossroads Union Church in Savannah. Fishing, farming and gardening were some of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his wife, Ann Willoughby, of 49 years, he is survived by his daughter, Trina Brown and husband Jeff of Olive Hill; brothers, Gene Willoughby and wife Loretta of Savannah, Bill Willoughby and wife Patsy of Clifton and Johnny Willoughby and wife Linda of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Travis Young; two grandchildren, Cody Brown and Drew Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Ayden, Kamden and Brynli Nicole.

Along with his parents, Mr. Willoughby was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Young.

Services were held on June 19, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, Tennessee, with Timmy Keen officiating. Burial followed in Crossroads Cemetery at Savannah.
