Curtis Gant

Curtis W. Gant, 90, of Crump, died Saturday, June 25, in Savannah.

He was born in Saltillo, the son of the late William McKinley and Lillian Scroggins Gant. He was united in marriage to Lois Kennedy, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Gant retired from DuPont where he was a power plant supervisor and later worked as a janitor for the Adamsville Post Office. He was a member of the Saltillo Church of Christ in Saltillo, as well as the Adamsville Church of Christ for more than 25 years. He did care and upkeep of Shady Grove Cemetery.

Services were held on Tuesday, June 28, at Saltillo Church of Christ in Saltillo with David Baker and Van Vansant officiating. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Saltillo.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Gant of Crump; a son, Roger Gant of Saltillo; three sisters, Ruby Ridley of Gallatin, Tenn., Vera Faye Bridges of Sardis, and Louise Farmer of Knoxville.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Eddie, Thomas, Raymond, Ernest, Harold Gant; and a sister, Velma Davis.

The Gant family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Montgomery Monument Project for Shady Grove Cemetery care of the Peoples’ Bank of Sardis.
