Carla Tennison

Carla Parks Tennison, 38, of Counce, died Monday, Nov. 12.

She was born in Jackson, Tenn., daughter of Carlene Talley Parks Lake and the late James Clifft Parks. She was united in marriage to Kerry DeWayne Tennison, who survives.

Mrs. Tennison worked for the Hardin County Board of Education at Pickwick Southside School as an art and music teacher for grades kindergarten through eighth grade. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as pianist. She later joined Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Iuka, Miss., where she served as a Bible worker and was actively involved in the youth program.

Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Iuka, Miss., with Malcolm Garrett and Russell Clous officiating. Burial followed in the Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery at Iuka, Miss.

She is survived by her husband Kerry Tennison of Counce; daughters, Katie Beth, Caroline, Claire and Emma Katherine, all of Counce; and her mother, Carlene "Ma" Lake.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Genelle Talley, and Armand and Edna Parks.
