Billy Seaton departed this life Friday, Jan. 24, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, 18 days.
Billy was born in Hardin County on April 6, 1931, the son of the late Carl and Blanche Caperton Seaton. On Oct. 14, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Phillips, who preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 2013.
Mr. Seaton served his country honorably in the United States Army and National Guard during the Korean conflict.
He retired as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service after almost 40 years of loyal service. He was a member of the Tennessee River Lodge, First United Methodist Church, and the F.&A.M. He was a people person, an honorable man, a man of his word. Billy loved UT Martin, was an avid hat collector, and enjoyed farming. However, his real joy came from his grandchildren, P.D. and Molly.
He is survived by his children, Paul Seaton and wife Peggy of Counce and Dana Seaton of Madison, and grandchildren Paul David Seaton and Molly Seaton.
In addition to his parents and wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Seaton, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max Seaton.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 27, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lonnie Robinson officiating. Burial followed at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah.
