Billy Daniel Billy Joe "Dooley" Daniel was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Adamsville, the son of the late Clyde Marland and Jessie Elizabeth Vinson Daniel. Mr. Daniel was a member of First Baptist Church of Adamsville. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve for six years during the World War II era and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class. While living in Texas, Mr. Daniel was a truck driver, oil rig operator and worked at the ship docks in Houston. He retired from decades of heavy machine operating and contracting. He loved country dancing, camping and spending time with friends and family. Mr. Daniel departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 21, in Savannah, at the age of 82 years, 18 days. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Wilma Brown of Savannah; three grandchildren, Waylon Daniel of Guntown, Miss., Joshua Lynn Daniel of Savannah and Amy Chalise Daniel Rich of Savannah; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Daniel Griffin of Houston, Texas. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his stepmother, Dona Daniel; two sons, Clyde Lynn Daniel and Danny Joe Daniel; and a brother, Clyde Vinson "Pete" Daniel. Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Frank Kimper officiating. Burial followed in the West Shiloh Cemetery at Stantonville, Tenn.
