Bettye Moore, 78, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
She graduated from Fairfield Industrial High School in 1963. She was chosen State President of the New Homemakers of America. She spent one semester at Tuskegee University. She was a Seventh Day Adventist and started working for the church as a Bible worker.
She married Melvin Reese, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three children, Kimberly Moore Banks, Willetta Shawnta Moore and Willie C. Moore Jr.; one grandson; brothers, James and Joe Easter; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Memory Gardens in Savannah, with James C. Harris officiating.
