Betty Sue Shelby, 86, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, July 24, the daughter of the late Pete and Annie Laura Burns Stricklin.
She was united in marriage to Tommy Shelby, who preceded his wife in death.
Betty worked in housekeeping for Hardin Medical Center. She was a member of New Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her children, Susie Owens, Steve Wilkerson, David Wilkerson, and Sherry Copeland; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five of her children, Donnie Wilkerson, Timmy Wilkerson, Tracy Wilkerson, Mitsy Kelley, and Becky Wilkerson; grandchild, Ginger Ruth; three sisters, Jennie Kate Wilder, Linda Hindman, and Nancy Hampton; and one brother, Jimmy Stricklin.
Memorial services were held on Monday, July 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Paul Childers officiating. Burial followed at White’s Creek Cemetery in Savannah.
