Barbara Spellings Williams

Barbara Spellings Williams, 93, of Savannah, departed this life on Tuesday, September 30. She was born on July 27, 1932, in Bells, Tennessee. She was the third of four daughters born to the late Robert Andrew and Florence Reams Spellings.
On December 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Bobby Wayne “BW” Williams, who preceded his wife in death on January 17, 2012.
Mrs. Williams was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for the ladies class. Barbara also enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Williams (Cindy) of Nesbit, Mississippi and Bruce Williams (Lee Ann) of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Harriet Wilson of Gleason, Tennessee; grandchildren, Olivia Williams, Meredith Williams Falconello (Blake), Bruce Williams, Jr. (Elizabeth), and Steven Williams (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Andrew Williams and Noah Williams; and two great-grandchildren on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Pettey and Lenora Stephenson.
Memorial services were held on Friday, October 3, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Carter Carroll officiating. Burial followed at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, Tennessee.
