Audie B. Combs, 92, a resident of Spring Hill, went to be with her husband and our Lord on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Williamson Medical. She was born July 25, 1921, in Coble, the daughter of the late James A. Parker and Elizabeth Gilbert Ray. She was united in marriage to Henry D. Combs who preceded her in death.
She and her late husband were the owners of Combs Grocery. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved working with her hands. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, doing ceramics and cooking, especially desserts.
She was a member of Lawrence Grove Baptist Church in Spring Hill.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Sue (E.L. “Hub”) Hubbard of Spring Hill; a grandson, Greg (Pam) Hubbard of Franklin and a great-grandson, Matthew Hubbard of Franklin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Monty Hubbard; sisters, Mamie Daniel and Dimple Long; and brothers, Autie and James Parker.
The family celebrated a service of her life Monday, Feb. 17, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Ronnie Thomas officiating. The family received friends Feb. 17 at the funeral home. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Memory Gardens in Savannah. Pallbearers were Greg Hubbard, Matthew Hubbard, Charlie Raines, Steven Smith, Cleaphus Rattliff and Todd Stallwood. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Lawrence Grove Baptist Church and Tom Warwick.
