Annie Akin

Annie Laura Watson Akin, 87, Milledgeville, died Sunday, March 7.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Etta Williams Watson. She was united in marriage to Tom Akin, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Akin was a shoe packer for Brown Shoe Company for about 12 years before retiring. She was a member of the Saltillo Methodist Church.

Services were held on March 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Billy Joe Kennedy officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery at Hardin County.

She is survived by two daughters, Norma Kay Muir of Milledgeville and Nancy Williams of Savannah; a son, Thomas Riley Akin Jr. of Bath Springs, Tenn.; a brother, James Leo Watson of Beech Bluff, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Watson; two sisters, Evelyn Frazier and Mary Nell Watson.
