Anna Ashby Anna F. Vanhoose Ashby, 77, of Savannah, died Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Hardin Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Saltillo, the daughter of the late Gabriel Lancaster "Lank" and Margaret Climintine Petty Vanhoose. She was united in marriage to Ival Ashby, who survives. Mrs. Ashby was a retired line supervisor for Angelica, Inc. and had also worked for Savannah Manufacturing. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, as well as a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Order of the Eastern Star. Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Shackelford Chapel, with Helen Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens. In addition to her husband, Ival, she is survived by two daughters, Diana Miles of Chattanooga and Janie Ashby of Pineville, La.; one sister, Wylodean Franks of White House, Tenn.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Magdelene Anderson Davis and Bernell Horton; and one brother, Harvey McNeal Vanhoose.
