Vernon Ray White, 91, of Adamsville, passed away on Friday, July 4, the son of Homer V White and Willie Barron White.
Vernon served in the U.S. Navy to see the world. He married the love of his life, Nancy Linam White, who survives.
They had three sons, Marshall White, Tony White, and Talmadge White, and one daughter, Vivian White Epps. He has six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Vernon was a heavy crane operator by trade, working on barges in the Gulf, building condos and hotels on the beach, and government projects. Upon retiring he started a new adventure in real estate remodeling and building houses with family members. He was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his son, Marshall White; and his sister, Wilburine White Barham.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Charles Linam officiating.
