Verlon Broadway, 70, of Counce, died on Monday, June 25, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, Mississippi.

She was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Andrew and Christine Brewer Carlisle. She was united in marriage to J.W. Broadway, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Broadway was a homemaker.

She is survived by her two sons, Ricky Broadway of Bath Springs, Tennessee and Billy Broadway of Counce; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Mary Walters of Lucedale, Mississippi; and one brother, James Carlisle of Pascaquala, Mississippi.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Adams and Lural Moore.

Services were held on Saturday, June 30, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Paul Childers officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery at Iuka, Mississippi.
