Verlie Tune

Verlie Tune, 90, of Belden, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness.

She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late John and Lizzie Smith.

She was of Baptist faith. She worked as a nurse’s aide and a private sitter for many years for Hardin County and Park Rest Nursing Homes.

Services were held on Friday, Oct. 7, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Garrett officiating. Burial was in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include three daughters, Faye Boyette and Carlene Davis, both of Tupelo, Miss. and Karen McGee of Belden, Miss.; two sons, Ray Tune of New Albany and Lane Tune of Tupelo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Putt; one grandson; three sisters, Lottie Shook, Fleetie Faulkner and Hattie Sharp; three brothers, Millard, Ashley and James Smith.
