Timothy Burks, 53, of Michie, died on Friday, Jan. 11, at the age of 53 years, 9 months, 18 days.
He was born in Alcorn County, Miss., the son of Peggy Counce Burks and the late James O. "Tom" Burks.
Timothy, or Slug as his friends called him, had lived in the Michie area all his life and worked construction.
Services were held on Sunday, Jan. 13, at Shackelford Chapel in Acton, Tenn., with James R. Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.
In addition to his mother, Peggy Counce Burks of Michie, he is survived by his children, April Ostie of Little Rock, Ark., Timothy Burks Jr. of Michie; seven grandchildren; brother, Tony Burks of Michie.
