Sherman Mayhall Jr. Sherman Mayhall Jr., 66, of Corinth, Miss., formerly of Hardin County, died Thursday, March 25, at his residence. He was born in Alcoa, Tenn., son of the late Sherman Sr. and Ella Mae Dunn Mayhall. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jones Mayhall, who survives. Mr. Mayhall was a retired supervisor with Caterpillar, with many years of service. He was music director, teacher and on various committees at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Services were held Saturday, March 27, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Roy Bostick officiating. Burial was in Dogwood Cemetery. In addition to his wife Peggy of Corinth, Miss., he is survived by two sons, Scott Yancey and Keith Yancey, both of Corinth; a daughter, Marsha McCollum of Corinth; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Mayhall of Counce, Larry Mayhall of Savannah and William Mayhall of Franklin, Ky.; two sisters, Marie Burney of Corinth and Kathy Winters of Adamsville. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and James Loyd Mayhall.
