Sally Wolfe (5-2-14) service 5-4-14

Sally Taylor Wolfe was born in Hardin County on Sept. 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Dan and Ida Austin Taylor. Ms. Wolfe departed this life May 2 in Savannah at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 16 days.

She is survived by her children, Sally Jane Franks of Marietta, Ga., Kathy Doyle and her husband Ricky of Savannah and Doug Wolfe and his wife Tammie of Adamsville; five grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder, Amanda McAdams, Kaitlin Snyder, Candra Hubbard and Bailey Wolfe; two great-grandchildren, Rylee McAdams and Carter McAdams and a brother, Jack Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz.

In addition to being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, she was blessed with great skills at cooking and sewing. Outside the home, she worked at Owens Corning Fiberglas in Jackson and Continental Barge Lines where she retired as a cook. After retirement, she utilized her God given gifts of care taking to nurture and comfort others including her sister and three brothers in their last days. Although her instinct was that of a giver, her most lasting event in life was one of acceptance when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and followed him in believer’s baptism in 1964.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Franks, a sister, Mazie Stockton and four brothers, Lacy, Holden, Fred and Dan Ellis Taylor.

Services were held Sunday, May 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Doug Wolfe and Jennifer Snyder officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
