Ruby White

Ruby White was born in Harrisburg, Ark., on May 14, 1916, the daughter of the late Ollie and Viola Barnhill Copeland.

On Oct. 23, 1936, she was united in marriage to William Earl White, who preceded his wife in death on Oct. 12, 2001.

Mrs. White was a homemaker. She was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and was a member of the Morris Chapel Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. White enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and gardening. Mrs. White loved her cats and her dogs.

She departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Hardin Medical Center Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 94 years, 4 months and 18 days.

Mrs. White is survived by one daughter, Beverly White Hardin of Savannah; and two sons, Jimmy Earl White and Gearld Wayne White, both of Morris Chapel; four grandchildren, Greg Hardin, Amanda Hardin Moore, Jeff White and Glenn White; four great-grandchildren, Seth White, Brandon White, Kara Beth White and Eli Thomas-Earl Moore; three sisters, Era Secrease of Harrisburg, Ark., Vera Martinez of Sacremento, Calif., and Sylvia Moss of Bucumke, Ill.; and one brother, Jack Copeland of Paragould, Ark.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Joy Dean White; one sister, Pat Johnson; three brothers, Floyd, Howard and Jim Copeland; and one infant grandchild, Brandon White.

Services were held on Tuesday, October 5, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Michael Roach, Mike Moore officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery at Hardin County.
