Otylier Callens (9-8-10) services 9-13-10

Otylier Callens, 80, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Sept. 8.

She was born in Nashville, the daughter of the late James Leo and Mattie Jenkins Gleaves. She was united in marriage to James Fay Callens, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Callens was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and also attended Southside Baptist Church in Savannah.

Services were held on Monday, Sept. 13, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Benny Taylor, Ray Newcom, Hugh Callens officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Shelby of Savannah; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Provie Butler of Flint, Mich.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Callens.
