Myrtle C. Dixon Myrtle C. Dixon, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., was born March 12, 1951 in Savannah, the daughter of Felix Andrew and the late Clara Belle Haynes Bailey. She was united in marriage to John C. Sparks, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Dixon received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and had worked for Middle Tennessee Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Bethel Murfreesboro Church. Mrs. Dixon departed this life on Wednesday, June 9, at the age of 59 Years, 2 Months, 28 Days. In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, P. Robin Dixon Jr., Richard Allen Dixon and wife Shannon all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Machira Grace Dixon and Savannah Joy Dixon; two sisters, Carolyn Taylor and Bobbie Robinson both of Savannah; two brothers, Johnny Bailey of Boling Green, Ky. and Larry Bailey of Savannah. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Harris. Services were held on Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. Richard Dixon, Dr. Cheryl Golden, Rev. Philip Meek officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. Mrs. Dixon was blessed to see her son, Robin, as a law school graduate from Vanderbilt University and work as assistant attorney general in Tennessee. She was also thankful to see her son, Richard, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, and serves as a local associate pastor in Murfreesboro. She always gave God glory for everything in her life, because all good things come from above.
