Michael “Mike” Cass, 73, of Counce, died on Wednesday, June 20, at his residence.

He was born in Savannah to Raymond Cass and Cora Lee Talley Cass.

Mr. Cass was an instrument mechanic for TN River Pulp & Paper Co for 40 plus years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Fadra Cass of Counce; his sons, Casey Roberts of Counce, Brett Cass of Michie and Brian Cass of Holden, Louisiana; his daughter, Cinda Meter of Counce; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; his sister, Mary Rose of Ashland City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Cass; his mother, Cora Lee Talley Cass; his brothers, Lewis Cass and Danny Cass; and his sister, Nancy Neill.

A Celebration of Life service was held Friday, June 22, at First Baptist Church of Counce. Burial followed at White Sulphur Cemetery with full military honors, with Jimmie McChristial officiating.
