Mary Melson

Mary Bell Robbins Melson, age 82, formerly of Collinwood, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, at Savannah Healthcare and Rehab Center.

Mary Bell was the daughter of the late Becky Holt and Henry Robbins. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jessie J. Melson on Jan. 2, 2004, a stillborn daughter, Mary Ann Melson in 1958, brothers, William, Fred, Cecil, and H.B. Robbins, and sister, Mearl Sherrill.

Mary Bell was a homemaker and attended McGlamery Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Kay Robertson and husband, Harold; a son, Mike Melson and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Amy Daniel, Ashlee Sherrill and husband, Brandon, Brandy Creecy and husband, Bradley, and Jeff Foster; great-grandchildren, Chandler and Chase Daniel and was expecting one in June, 2012.

Mary Bell was a loving, kind, and very caring mother and granny and will be greatly missed.

Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, with Jerry L. Robbins and John E. Banks officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Robbins, Bobby Robbins, Larry Robbins, John Galbreth, Sr., Shane Petty, Kenneth Melson, Chandler Daniel, and Chase Daniel.
